I never managed to get into Glasgow School of Art back in the day, so I'm pretty chuffed to have been invited to give a talk there almost 35 years later.
I'll be sharing a few stories, wrong turns and things I've learned along the way with third and fourth year Communication Design students.
Preparing for the talk has been a bit of a trip down memory lane, digging through the archives and unearthing a few gems, including my old Cardonald College student card.
It's also been fascinating looking back at just how much the industry has changed since I started out as a junior finished artist, back when cut and paste meant literally cutting and pasting. As usual, I said yes without quite realising how much work goes into putting together a 45-minute talk.
In hindsight, preparing all my slides in Letraset probably wasn't the best move!
