Everything Will Be Fine was commissioned by developers Tartan Leisure, alongside brand strategy partners Rogue Village, to create the brand identity for Lost Shore Surf Resort. Formerly Wavegarden Scotland, Lost Shore is Scotland’s first inland surfing destination.

The £65m landmark development in Ratho, near Edinburgh, opens to the public in summer 2024. Set within a 60-acre country park, the resort welcomes surfers of all abilities, generating up to 1,000 custom waves per hour. The wider site includes waterside bothy-style accommodation, food and retail, events, a surf school with surf therapy, and a wellness spa.

The Lost Shore logo is set in Obviously Wide Bold by OH No Type. It’s paired with a distinctive graphic icon based around the resort’s unique fan shaped cove and the waves contained within. The icon scales effortlessly from tiny digital sizes (such as a favicon) to large scale signage. It can be rendered in 3D, embossed, dye cut and animates to great effect. Watch the video explainer below to discover more.

The Lost Shore holding page is a simple, single page website with an option to subscribe for updates. Video, colour, typography and the cove icon seamlessly come together, introducing the brand identity to a global audience.

Keen to embrace cold water surfing and the Scottish climate the team wanted a colour palette that didn’t shy away from this. To create standout we settled on a distinctive bronze accent colour with warm greys. Inspired by the Scottish landscape and natural materials from the resort’s surroundings the colours feel honest and unique.

Building up to the opening in Summer 2024 the Lost Shore Surf Resort brand identity will continue to evolve and grow. Shown below are a range of renders exploring different brand expressions for apparel, merch, signage and more.
