Lucent, 50 Bothwell Street Brand Identity

50 Bothwell Street is a Victorian landmark in the heart of Glasgow’s central business district. After standing vacant for several years, a £35m redevelopment began in 2022, retaining the building’s sandstone façade while introducing 90,000 sq ft of contemporary office space across six floors.

A stakeholder workshop helped define two guiding themes for the brand: light and nature. These ideas informed both the naming and identity, reflecting the building’s new central atrium, biophilic design approach and emphasis on openness and wellbeing.

The name Lucent, meaning “glowing with light,” captures this shift. Paired with a refined visual identity, it expresses the building’s timeless character while signalling a confident, future-focused workspace.
