James Porter & Son Brand Identity
James Porter & Son was the first jeweller to open in Glasgow’s Argyll Arcade over 160 years ago and is now run by the sixth generation of the Porter family. Working alongside MLT Digital, we were commissioned to refresh the brand identity in a way that respects its heritage while appealing to a modern audience.
The identity centres on a custom wordmark, seal and a sub-brand for the Porter’s Signature Collection, built around Louize by 205TF. The refined serif typeface balances tradition with contemporary clarity, bringing a sense of quality and polish across print, packaging and digital touchpoints.
The result is a considered evolution of the brand, preserving its legacy of craftsmanship while positioning James Porter & Son confidently within the luxury market.
